Our Founders
Matthew Shorraw
Matthew Shorraw is a 2009 graduate of Monessen High School and a 2019 Commercial Music Technology graduate from California University of Pennsylvania. He is the founder of the Raise Your Voice Festival Matt currently resides in Monessen, PA and wants to bring life back to the city. He currently serves as the 20th Mayor of Monessen.
Karla Spangler
Karla Spangler is a 2010 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration - Management and is an Accounts Payable and Payroll Clerk. She first got involved in the Raise Your Voice Campaign by helping to plan the 2nd Annual Raise Your Voice Music and Arts Festival. (She was also solely responsible for making you this beautiful website!)
Samantha Brown
Samantha Brown is a former National Park Guide at Zion National Park, in Utah, as well as at the Allegheny Portage Railroad/Johnstown Flood Memorial complex. She first got involved in the Raise Your Voice Monessen Campaign by helping to plan the 2nd Annual Raise Your Voice Music and Arts Festival. Samantha has since moved out of W. PA but continues to support the campaign any way she is able.
Chelsey Salay
Chelsey Salay is a 2007 graduate of Monessen High School and a 2012 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. Chelsey began helping with Raise Your Voice in 2013. Chelsey is interested in helping to serve the marginalized members of the community and enjoys doing whatever she can to give back.
Shots By Linzi
Shots By Linzi is a Monessen-based photographer. Linzi started working with Raise Your Voice when she was fourteen, after winning a photo contest at that year's festival. Shortly afterward, Linzi became the historian for all Monessen Amphitheater events. She enjoys photographing live music, portraits, events, and animals, and is currently pursuing a photography degree.
